Conocephalum Sculpture
This is a bent wood sculpture consisting of 26 pairs of laser cut wood components glued with a variety of bends and assembled with glue, clamps, and weights. I created the shape on the fly, adding a few pieces at a time and planning only the next few while the glue dried. I'm amazed it worked out so well! Many thanks to the folks at Cal Poly Humboldt Greenhouse for growing and maintaining the liverwort Conocephalum conicum that inspired this piece.
4.25 inch Coasters
I had a few new design ideas that I wanted to explore, so I created some more coasters.
Transluscent Conocephalum
I dyed some rice paper using wood stain and clipped it to the back of this piece to allow green light to pass through. I see a lot of potential here.
